DR. A A MARTIN DEAD.
DIED OF WO ENDS. LONDON, Sept. 20. Dr A. A. Martin, of Palmerston North, died of wounds at the New Zealand stationary hospital in France. He was wounded during the lighting on the Somme.. NEW NILE DAM. BUILT BY EGYPTIANS. (Deceived 9.40.) CAIRO, Sept. 20. The Egyptian Government will commence, in the autumn, the building of a new dam south of Khartoum, at a cost of a million Egyptian pounds, fearing abnormally high floods in the Nile will follow the successive low levels.
