Win Hughes, in a manifesto referring to the Government’s forthcoming financial proposals, emphasised the necessity of sacrificing both men and wealth for the welfare of the State. The Government would not hesitate to call upon wealth to boar nan ally the sacrifice with | nan hood,! No man would be allowed to make a profit out of the war. The manifesto concludes; If Australia fails on October 2Sth. democracy and Labour will have failed. Australia must not fail. In the name of Australian democracy I abiure every man and woman to vote ' ‘ Yes. ”
