SHEEP ART UNION.

FOR RED CROSS FUNDS. ’As is now generally knoAvn, a monster sheep art union is being organised in Taihapo for the purpose of raising funds for the Red Cross Society, and the Committee hope to have 1000 sheep donated by the farmers for this purpose. So far over SOO have been promised, and it is hoped that the balance ivill be donated before the end of the week. As soon as this number is reached, formal application will be made to the Minister of Internal Affairs for a permit which will not be granted until a complete list of the donors is submitted. The tickets will be distributed from one end of New Zealand to the other, and in vlcav of the success of the McHardy Art Union there is every reason for the belief that a large sum of money will be raised. Farmers, Avho have not yet donated, are being approached in the matter, and there is every prospect in view of the generosity of a number of farmers, especially the small, farmers, that tho necessary number, of sheep will be forthcoming. vv
