" 'me terms of setlement oAhtT Levy case are announced by the Hon. Myers, Minister in Charge of Munitions and Supplies. The cancellation of Levy’s contract stands. Of goods valued at £IO,OOO, being garments states to be sewn with linen thread, the Minister will accept delivery, provided they comply with the spec., ations. He will permit Levy to resew with linen thread garments valued at £15,500, which were delivered, but rejected, and will consent to Levy being relieved of £4721 worth of khaki cloth, provided it is of New Zealand manufacture and in perfect condition. The Government refuses to give special consideration to Levy, owing to the strain on his finances. Levy is to pay to the Government the sum of £2OOO in settlement of claim by the Crown. Levy is to pay the fine of £SO and costs imposed in accordance with his conviction, and publicity is to be given to the full terms of settlement. The terms were made by the Crown, and accepted by Messrs. Gray and Jackson, Levy’s counsel.
