SECOND ANNUAL MEETING

The second annual meeting of till* Otaihape Farmers’ Meat and Produce Company, Ltd., was held yesterday hi the Town Hall. There was a good attendance, the Chairman of DirectorsMr H. D. Bennett, presiding. On the motion of the chairman the annual report and balance sheet wasadopted. . j,

Mr Haybittle congratulated™ directors on the successful installation of the works, and said it had been requir ed by the dstrict. They were having opposition works erected in the near neighbourhood, and he thought tnc farmers should stick to the concern. He thought it would have been better if they had allowed for depreciation in the balance sheet. (Applause.» Some discussion followed on a motion by Mr Poulson to the effect that the number of directors be limited to nine instead of twelve.

Mr Bennett stated that there wore

four vacancies and only one nomination, and if Mr Paulson’s motion was carried, then Mr Gunn, the only nominee, would be elected.

Finally, on the motion of Mr Dili, burn it was decided to accept nominations at the meeting. Mr Poulson’s motion re the number of the directorate was then put and carried.

Messrs Carlson and Batley resigned in order to give shareholders a cnance to nominate others for the position. This left three vacancies and the two retiring members, and Mr Gunn elected.

Messrs Clark and Mcnffios and Mr C. Masters were reelected auditors
