METEOROLOGICAL NOTES.

The rainfall for the month of August was 4.67 inches. There were 22 days with rain, and the maximum fall fur the corresponding month of the previous ten years is 2.14 inches. The mean maximum temperature m the shade for the month was 48.. 8 neg. F.; the mean minimum temperature in the shade was 37.8 deg. F. The extreme maximum temperature in the shade was 61.2 F. on the 28th, and the extreme minimum tom pm ature in the shade was 32 deg. on the 3rd. The mean terrestial radiation (grass) temperature was 34.5 deg F., the minimum being 28 deg. F. on the 16th. The mean earth temperature at 2ft was 46 deg. P. (This journal is indebted to Mr. A. R.
