ROUMANIA’S IRRESISTIBLE ADVANCE.

ON. A 25 MILES FRONT. THE ADVANCE STILL CONTINUES. BUCHAREST, Sept. 2. A wireless message states that the Rumanian army on the evening of the declaration ,of war was ready to take up positions, and crossed the Carpathian crests from Bukowina and the River Danube with a single bound. Their attacks were made from War lachia northwards and from Moldavia westwards, their principal operations being in Wallachia, whence they made three important attacks on the vaiieys of Jic, Alt and Prakova. They, were momentarily held in check at Orsova, on their extreme left front, but during the past two days they have crossed the entire Orsova zone, following the line of tbe Danube.

Th Roumanian attack on the Moldavian side has been appreciably extended in the directions of Grimeshpalance and Oituz, in tbe extreme north. This line the Roumanians took on the first day, when they junctioned with Letchitsky’s troops. This general attack enabled an advance to be made on Wednesday for 25 miles along almost the entire front. The greatest advance was in the direction of Hermanustadt. The rapidity of the Roumanian advance broke down numerous successive defence lines, enabling the capture of ammunition depots. Hungarians since the war began had powerfully fortified this elevated zone. The Roumanian advance continues. AN EXTRAORDINARY PROCEDURE, PASSPORTS WITHHELD BY RADOSLAVOPF. FROM ROUMANIAN AMBASSADORS.
