DANNEVIRKE, This Day. Davis Ormond Smith, farmer, formerly of Tahoraite, was . committed for. trial at the Supreme Court for alleged theft of four heifers, the property of M. P. Knight. Bail, £2OO was granted. The cattle that are the subject of the charge, were sold at defendant's clearing sale, two being purchased by Mr Knight. Subsequent investigation led to prosecution. Smith peaded not guilty.
