AMERICAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.
WASHINGTON, August 22. There is a democratic split over the Immigration Restrictions Bill, which the caucus desired not to discuss this session. A section of democrats, with the aid of Republicans, want a definite clause excluding Japanese and coolies.
