BRITISH ELECTION QUESTION.
THE REGISTRATION BILE. LONDON, August 21. The House of Lords discussed the Government’s registration proposals. Lord Salisbury announced that the Bill was introduced to provide for the votes of soldiers and sailors in the event of an election while they were on service. Lord Cromer warned the advocates of women’s suffrage that the country was not prepared for so revolutionary a change.
