— PROGRESS REPORT. The- latest progress statement-issued by tire Discharged Soldiers’ Department shows that th e total number of names on tho register is 5363. Of these, 3710 are disposed of, 102 S are under action, and 625 are not yet ready for action. There are 336 men on the “Wasted Employment” Register, non e being,in the Taihape district. There arc three, however, in th e Wellington dstrict, one desiring employment as a lackey, one light outdoor work, and the other is a married man; and his wife who desire employment as married couple, the man to do gardening or farm work and the wife work as governess
