PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that, under the provisions of "The Munieipal Corporations Act, 1908," "The Eating Act, 1905," and "The Local Bodies Act, 1905," and the amendments thereof respectively, and all other powers and authorities it thereunto enabling, it is the intention of the Taihape Borough Council, at a SPECIAL MEETING, to be held in the Council Chambers, Town Hall, Tan hape, on THUESDAY, the 31st day of August, 1916, at 12 o'clock noon, to make and levy the following rates for the year commencing on the Ist day of April, 1916, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1917. A GENEEAL EATE of one penny the rateable value of all ratei able property within the Borough of Taihape_ A LIGHTING EATE of one.eighth of a penny (LSd) in the pound on the rateable property within the Borough of Taihape. A WATEE EATE, under the provh sions of Section 83 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 190 S" and its amendments, on all rateable property within the Taihape Water Supply Eating District, and all property outside such district situated within one hundred yards from any part of the Waterworks. In addition to the above, the Council proposes to levy the following Special Rates for payment of Interest and Sinking Fund, on the under mentioned loans:— Loan of £6OOO (Streets and Footpaths Improvement), a rate of one farthing (-}d) in the £. Loan of £2OOO (Town Hall additional), a rate of ont\ twelfth of a penny (l-12d) in the £, Loan of £21,250 (Waterworks, Elecv trie Light, Etc.), a rate of one penny (Id) in the £,. Loan of £ll3l lis lid (Drainage Area, No. 1), a rate of One tenth of a penny (l-10d) in the £. Loan of £1034 19s lid (Drainage Area, No. 2). a rate of three; sixteenths of a penny (3-16 d) iii the £. Loan of £3750 (Drainage Area, No. 3), a rate of seven.eighths of a penny (7-Sd) in the £ Loan of £2803 19s 5d (Taihape Township Eoads), a rate of onei eighth of a penny (LSd) in the £. Loan of £1346 7s lid (Otaihape I.F.S. Eoads), a rate of threei twentieth's of a penny (3/20d) in the £• Loan of £4OOO (Waterworks additional), a rate of one farthing (-kl) in the £.
