GERMAN GRAIN FRAUDS. ROTTERDAM, August 1(5. The ‘ ‘ Berliner Tagcblatt ” says that nearly a hundred arrests have been made in Berlin and West Prussia in connection with extensive grain frauds. Large quantities were sent to Berlin branded "machine parts” and "potatoes,” and sold at 300 per cent profit.

A communique says:—North of Mauropas, in conjunction with the British we carried an entire line of German trenches on a front of 1300 metres, and reached certain points on the Manrcpas-Guillemont road. South of the village, on a two kilometres front, we progressed to a depth of from 300 to 500 metres.
We re-occupied all enemy positions east of the Manrcpas-Clery road after sharp engagements, causing heavy CMomv losses.
