PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that, under the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” “The Eating Act, 1908,’’ and “The Local Bodies Act, 190 S, ’’ and the amendments thereof respectively, and all other powers and authorities it thereunto enabling, it is the intention of the Taihape Borough Council, at a SPECIAL MEETING, to be held in the Council Chambers, Tonbi Hall, Tail nape, on THURSDAY, the 31st day of August, 1916, at 12 o’clock noon, to make and levy the following rates for he year commencing on the Ist day of April, 1916, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1917. A GENERAL RATE of one penny and a farthing (l;]d) in the £ on the rateable value of all rate; able property within the Borough of Taihape. A LIGHTING RATE of one, eighth of a penny (l.Sd) in the pound on the rateable property within the Borough of Taihape. A ATER RATE, under the provL sions of Section 83 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908” and its amendments, on all rateable property within the Taihape Water Supply Eating District, and all property outside such district situated within one hundred yards from any part of the Waterworks.

Li addition to tii c above, the Council proposes to levy the following- Special Rates for payment of Interest and Sinking Fund, on the under mentioned loans:— Loan of £6OOO (Streets and Footpaths Improvement), a rate of one farthing (Id) in the £. Loan of £2OOO (Town Hall additional), a rate of one’, twelfth of a penny (l-12d) in .the £_ Loan of £21.250 (Waterworks, Elec* trie Light, Etc.), a rate of one penny (Id) in the £. Loan of £ll3l 11s lid (Drainage Area, No. 1), a rate of one. tenth of a penny (l-10d) in the £. Loan of £1034 19s lid (Drainage Area, No. 2), a rate of three, sixteenths of a penny (3-l(id) in the £. Loan, of £3750 (Drainage Area, No. 3), a rate of seven.eighths of a penny (7-Sd) in the £ Loan of £2803 19s 5d (Taihape Township Roads), a rate of oner eighth of a penny (LSd) in the V, Loan of £1346 7s lid (Otaihape T.F.S. Roads), a rate of three - , twentieths of a penny (3v2od) in the £• Loan of £4OOO (Waterworks additional), a rate of one farthing (Id) in the £. All such rates to be payable in one instalment on the 10th day of SEP, TEMBEE, 1910, at the Town Clerk’s Office, Taihape. PUBLIC NOTICE is also given that the Valuation Roll. Rate Book, and the Estimates of Receipts and Expend!, tare for the year 1910-17 are now open for Public Inspection at the Town Clerk ’s Office, during office hours'. WM. J.
