Special Advertisements. BOROUGH OF TAIHAPE. PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that, under the provisions of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," "The Eating Act, 1908," and "The Local Bodies Act, 1908," and the amendments thereof respectively, and all other powers and authorities it thereunto enabling, it is the intention of the Taihape Borough Council, at a SPECIAL MEETING, to be held in the Council Chambers, Town Hall, Taii hape, on THURSDAY, the 31st day of August, 1916, at 12 o'clock noon, to make and levy the following rates for the year commencing on the Ist day of April, 1916, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1917.; —

A GENERAL RATE of one penny and a farthing (l-}d) in the £ on the rateable value of all able property within the Borough of Taihape. A LIGHTING RATE of one.eighth of a penny (LBd) in the pound on the rateable property within A WATER RATE, under the provisions of Section 83 of the Municipal Corporations Act, .1908" and its amendments, on all rateable property within the Taihape Water Supply Rating District, and all property outside such district situated within one hundred yards from any part of the Waterworks. In addition to the above, the Council proposes to levy the following Special Rates for payment of Interest and Sinking Funcf, on the under mentioned loans: — Loan of £OOOO (Streets and Footpaths Impro-wement), a rate of one farthing (4d) in the £. Loan of £2OOO (Town Hall additional), a rate of out'.twelfth of a penny (l-12d) in the £ Loan of £21,250 (Waterworks, Eleci trie Light, Etc.), a rate of one penny (Id) in the £. Loan of £3750 (Drainage 'Area, No. 3), a rate of seven.eighths of a penny (7-Sd) in the £ Loan of £2803 19s 5d (Taihape Township Roads), a rate of onei eighth of a penny (l.Sd) in the £. Loan of £1316 7s lid (Otaihape 1.F.8. Roads), a rate of three, twentieths of a penny (3/20d) in tli e £. Loan of £4OOO ("Waterworks additional), a rate of one farthing . (id) in the £. All such rates to be payable in one instalment on the 16th day of SEP. TEMBEK, 19.16, at the Town Clerk's Office, Taihape. PUBLIC NOTICE is also given that the Valuation Roll, Rate Book, and the Estimates of Receipts and Expendh tnr.e for the year 1910-17 are now open for Public Inspection at the Town Clerk's Office, during office hours.
