TO-MORROW'S MEETING.

DECLARATION OF WAR. j To-morrow is the anniversary of the j Declaration of War, and, as advertised, the occasion is to be celebrated by a public gathering in Taihape at the l Band Rotunda, or, if wet, in the Town | Hall, when patriotic speeches will be I delivered and a resolution proposed similar to that carried at last year's anniversary. The Mounted Rifles and Cadets will parade, and as~Tt is a compulsory holiday, no leave will be granted. The resolution carried at last year's gathering wa s as follows: "That on this anniversary of a righteous -war, this meeting- of the. Burgesses of Taihape records its-inflexible determination to continue to a victorious end the struggle in maintenance of those ideals of liberty and justice which are the common and sacred cause of the Allies." It is hoped that the gathering will be attended by every person that can possibly make it convenient, more especially as the cause of the Allies now
