RED CROSS WORK.
The sub-committee of the Taihape Branch of the Red Cross Committee receive material from the local committee and make up articles. The fol/l lowing articles have been received:—) Taihape Committee: 10 shirts, 1 pair pyjamas, 2 pairs bed socks, 3 face cloths, 20 hankerchiefs from the Taihape School children; Mataroa: 9 flannel shirts, 11 day shirts, 4 pyjamas B'ennett's Siding: 3 pyjamas, 3 pairs bed socks; Ruauui: 3 pyjamas, 6 shirts, 2 pairs pants, 3 pairs socks, 4 swabs, 16 handkerchiefs; Taoroa: 10 pillow cases, 2 flannel shirts, 5 day shirts, 3 pairs pyjamas; Tiriraukawa: 7 pairs pyjamas, 1 pair flannel pants; Ohutu: 2 pairs bed socks, 5 pyjamas, 4 shirts; Kaweka Road: 3 shirts, 3 pairs pyjamas. These articles were sent on to the Wellington Red Cross Scciety to be distributed in the various hospitals for the use of wounded soldiers. The Committee desires to acknowledge gifts from the following:—Mesdames Bicknell, Kirschberg, Little, Gasson, A. Thomson, Aldridge, McKinnon, J. Bartosh, O'Kiefe, C. Gibbs, Fannin; Wilkie, McKay (Mataroa), Timbs, Cannons, Davies, Shanley, Ongley; Siddells: Bray, Younjg (Ruanui), Forde (Ruanui), Todd, J. Anderson (Bennett's Siding Crowther (Waiouru)), Bremner |Ruanui), Law (Taeroa)), Misses Darvill and Smith (Hopwood), and Bremner.
