LONDON WOOL SALES.
Dalgety and Co. received the following cablegram from their London Office, under date of the 28th ult:—
The fifth series of -wool sales closed firm. As compared with the closing rates of last sale, super and good scoured merinos were 5 per cent, dearer, whilst short and faulty were on a par.
Super greasy merinos advanced 5 per ptr cent, and good from par to 5 per cent, and faulty were at par. Lambs were from pra to 5 per cent, lowar. Fine greasy crossbreds declined from par to 5 per cent, medium and coarse, and also crossbred lambs, were 5 per cent lower. Fine scoured crossbreds showed a decline of 5 per cent, and medium and coarse 7\ to 10 per cent. Slipes were from par to 5 per cent lowtr. 12,500 bales were carried forward of which 8000 were not offered.
