WELLINGTON, July ‘M.

A meeting of city property owners tonight discussed the proposed legislation affecting increased rents during the war. The following resolution was adopted: “That this meeting strongly objects to the legislation as contained in the War Legislation Amendment Bill on the ground that such legislation is inequitable and unjust.” A Land~ Jords’ Association was formed to conserve the interests of property owners,, and a deputation was afterwards appointed to interview the Premier.
