The “Frankfurter Zeitung” quotes the technical weekly journal, “Prometheus,” a s an authority for the statement that two of the foremost naval Powers are building 5000 ton submarine cruisers, 400 feet long, protected and armed like medium cruisers, and with 18,000 Lorse-power engines, enabling a speed of 26 knots on the surface, and 16 submerged. The vessel will -have an effective radius of from 18,000 to 20,000 sea miles wirnout replenishing fuel. Her armament consists of 30 torpedo tubes, two reserve torpedoes for each, several antiaircraft guns, and mine-laping apparatus for laying 150 mines.
