% At the meeting of the. Tahiape, Bor* ough Council last evening, the Town Hall and Reserves Committee submitted the following report

“Your Committee has to report hav-

ing met representatives of thb Taihape Municipal Brass Band on the I2tlj inst. for the purpose of discussing the question of subsidy and ct• >or matters relative to the band, and now recommends as follows:—(1) That the Council subsidise the band to the extent of £3O for Die period from October Ist, 1913 to the 30tli September 1916 (2) That Die Town Hall and Reserves Committee undertake the control of the band, and the Town Clerk be appointed treasurer. Your Committee

considered the question of public performances, and recommends that in

future 12 public performances per annum be given by the band, either at the Band Rotunda, Hospital Grounds or the Recreation Ground; each performance to consist of not less than live items. Any performance for which the band is paid shall not be termed a public one. In moving the adoption of the report, Councillor Joblin detailed the performances the band has to give. ,
