The London Weekly Telegraph furnishes,on the authority of a correspondent from Cornwall, a recipe for making coal last longer on a finj, and refers to its success in high terms. Here it is. For lcwt of coal mix IGozs of common salt with S ozs of common soda, and about two-thirds of a pint of boiling water to dissolve the salt and soda. Keep this in a bottle with ;i cork cut to allow the solution to be well sprinkled. Be sure the coal is well mo'stsned with the solution. The result is invariably very litte smoke, a brighl incandescent kind of flame, and long duration of the fuel. It sometimes oe•'.urs that, some classes of coal require a stronger mixture. Then increase the quantities of sail and soda, but the same proportion of water. Boiled sea. water is better than fresh water.
