The military regulations prohibit, photographs being taken, in the neighbourhood, and the sentry detected the offence. The camera was confiscated, and Sir Shepherd was marched under arrest to the guardroom. Subsequently Mr Hughes appeared, explanations were given, and Sir Shepherd was released. His negative, howeven, was destroyed.
