1 .EGISLATIVE COUN CIL

WELLINGTON, July 11. 'The Legislative Council met at 2-30 p.m. The Council agreed to a conference with the managers of the House of Representatives on the Military Service Bill. Sir F. Bell and the Hons. Morgan and Samuel were appointed managers on behalf o* the Council. Among the local Bills received from the House of Representatives and read a first time, was the Wanganui Borough Council Street Access Empowering Amendment Bill. CONDOLENCE. A motion of condolence with the Speaker and Ill's family on the death at. the war of their youngest son, was passed. On the motion of the Hon. Bell, seconded by the Hon. Ormond, the Council-then (2.45 p.m.) adjourned as a mark of respect. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. CONCERNING PUBLIC BUILDINGS. The House of Representatives met at 2-30 p.m. S'r Jo-oph Ward laid on the table the annuai statement concerning public buildings of the Dominion, which raised >i lengthy discussion. The paper Mas ordered to be printed. FINANCE BILL. The House resumed at 7-30, when Mr Anstey continued the debate on the second'reading of the Finance Bil. At 11-20 Mr Young moved the adjournment of the debate, and the House rose.
