The High Commissioner's market re port, dated London, June 24, is as fol lows: —

Meat—New Zealand mutton and lamb in small"! supply... but there is a large demand. Prices remained unchanged. Lower prices are being accepted for Argentine mutton and lamb owing to increasing supplies of home-killed mutton, beef, and Argentine beef. New Zealand mutton Bgd, ewe mutton B]d, Argentine mutton 10]d, New Zealand lamb iUd, Argentine lamb 11-}d, New Zealand bull beef, hinds 7ki, fores 7d; Argentine chilled beef, hinds 9|d, fores B*d.

Butter.* —Market quiet and steady. Danish, salted 174 s to 178 s; Siberian, stocks light, 134 s to 140 s; Irish creamery,, salifced 158 s to 1625, uiisalted 162 s to 1645.; New Zealand, market steady, salted 168 s to 170 s; good to fine quality salted 164 s to 16(is; Argentine, market steady, salted 154 s to 1565, unsalted 158 s to 160 a.

Cheese —Market weaker and tendency downwards. Canadian, wealc market, white 98s to 102 s, coloured 98s to 102 s; English cheddar, market quiet, 106 s to 110 s; New Zealand market much weaker and there is less demand, prices irregular, higher prices refer to sales made earlier this week, white 102 s to 106 s, coloured 99s to 104 s; United States flats, white 96s to 100 s, coloured 96s to 100 s.

Hem]). —Market quiet, with tendency in favour of buyers for forward shipment, caused by reports of large suj>ply and large shipments from Maniih. Abraham & Williams, Ltd., report on Marton sale held on Tuesday::—A heavy yarding of sheep and a fair one •of cattle came forward. All classes of stock sold readily, although several pens of ewes failed to reach vendors' reserves. We quote: 4- and 0-tooth Corriedale wethers 245, 2-tooth do: 22s 2d, 2-tooth wethers 26s (id to 30s, empty ewc-s 17s 9d to 19s;' fat and forward ewes 22s 9d to 2.3 s 9d, 4- and 6-tcoth ewes in lamb-375, 4-tooth to 4-year do. 34s- 2d, 2-tooth do. small 27s Sd„ s.m. do. 26s 3d to 30s sd, good mixed hoggets 22s 9d to 24s 7d, small do. 17s, fat wethers 32s (id, fat ewes 27s Sd to 28s 7d, lighter do. 24s 2d to 25s Sd; mixed weaners £2 to £2 Bs, weaner heifers 36s to £2 10s, cows in calf, £5 5s to £6, cows with calves £7, springing cows £8 5s to £8 15, springing heifers to £9, forward cows £6 lis to £7 7s 6d, empty heifers to £4 16s, fat cows £9 15s to £lO, lighter do. £8 17s 6d to £9. 4s 6d, fat heifers £9 to £9 15s, light do. £7 17s 6d to £8 Is. On Thursday wo held a clearing sale at Fern Flats, on account of Messrs Wake and Candy. Although there was heavy rain all day a very large number of people attended and we have to report a good sale. Some of the .prices realised were: Wether hoggets 22s (id, small do. 18s, fat cow £8 12s (id, weaner heifers £3 12s 6d, weaner steers £3 7s 6d, heifers in milk £6 to £lO, 2-year steers £lO 2s (id. heiters in calf £6 17s 6d, 7-year draught gelding £32 10s, 4year do. £27 10s, aged do. £ls 15s, trap horse £l7, trap £l7 10s, harness £6, 4year pony £lO, sundries, farm implements, etc., all sold at prices well up to elbaring sale rates.
