GERMANS MAKE GREAT OUTCRY. DO HOT UKE THEIR OWH PHYSIC.

FRANCE GIVES A WARNING.

Received 9-15 p.m., June 29

PARIS, June 29

Official. —The Germans, in announcing to the whole world the terrible effects of the bombardment of Karlsruhe, denounce the villainy of

ie bombardment. It is desirable to recall that this was ordered as a reprisal for bombardments on the open towns of Bar Ie Due and Luneville, which cost the lives of numerous inoffensive people. The Germans also t.-mbarded Amiens. Bethune and many other towns live or six times clurir-f; the last three months. We abstained from the bombardment of towns behind the German lines, but our abstention sufficed to show the world the degree of our patience. It is impossible to allow the enemy without scruple to continue multiplying attacks with the assurance of immunity. For the future, our conduct will he regulated by our adversary's. They will suffer reprisals -which ■they force us to take.

JERJOIiS BUT NOT DESPERATE.

Received 9-15 p.m., June 29. LONDON. June 29. The “Chronicle” says that though e Ministerial crisis is serious, it is

.ot desperate. Sir Edward Carson and his Ulster colleagues are unwavering in their conviction that the settlement should be effected on the basis cf Mr. Lloyd George’s- proposals. Except the “Morning Post” and “Yorkshire Post” all the leading Unionist journals favour the settlement.' , , : b' ’ . -v J '
