BRITAIN’S DECLINING BIRTH RATE.
• Received £-30 p.m., June 29. LONDON, June 29. The Hon W. H. Long ; replying to a deputation regarding the declining birth rate, said he would approve of income-tax relief where a large part of the income was spent in supporting children. He favoured the appointment of a central emigration board to co-ordinate and control emigration. The Imperial birth rate might be substantially! promoted by well-controlled emigration.
