THE WOOL TRADE.
BRITISH GOVERNMENT'S PURCHASE. Received S-4 0 p.m., June 28. LONDON, June 28. In the House of Lords, replying to criticisms of the Government's policy as likely to disorganise the wool trade, Lord Sandhurst said the Government acquired the 1916 clip at prices based on values ruling immediately before the war, with the addition of 30 per cent, in view of farmers' increased expenses. Seventyfive per cent, of the estimated value will be paid on delivery, and the: balance after final inspection.
