FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT

MR AND MRS GOWDY, LOSE THEIR LIVES A motor car accident occurred at Feilding yesterday afternoon by which Mr and Mrs Gowdy, of Ruanui, both lost their lives. An endeavour was being made to catch a train and the driver of the car turned on to the crossing at Taonui without noticing the approaching express. The car was destroyed and Mr and Mrs Gowdy received very serious injuries, including fractured limbs. Mr Gowdy died in the hospital yesterday and Mrs Gowdy died under operation this morning. They leave a family and a 'very large number of friends in this district to mourn their loss. The funeral will leave St. Margaret’s Church at 2 o'clock on Monday afternoon.
