TAIHAPE PRIZE WINNERS
CLASSES
At the Palmerston North Show there was keen competition in the poultry, classes, entries being received frffesl all parts cf the island. Taihape was well represented and a number of prizes were won by breeders from this district, In the American White Leghorns, in the class for white cock, SW. E. Mathie scored first and special prizs and the North Island Championship, and J. McKenzie second and third, and W. E. Mathie gained the second prize in the class for white hens. In white cockerels, W. E. Mathie won the first prize. In whitepulets te first prize was won by Mr B. H. Fraser, who also scored a first and special in the class for Orpington black hens, and a second in the black pullet class. In 'the Wyandotte classes, Taihape exhibitors also did well. \W. E. Mathie gaining a v.h.c card for -his white hen and J R. Cunninghame gaining first and W. E. Mathie second prize; for white cockerels In the class for a white pullet J. R. Cunninghame received the second prize and W. E. Mathie the third. In the Wyandotte utility classes W. E. Mathie first and special for white hens, first in white pullets and third in white cockerels, while the Rev W- P. Stent tcok third prize for his white hen. In the Orpington utility classes, B. H. Fraser wen the third prize for black s.c hen.
In the Leghorn utility classes W. E. Mathie scored first and special in the American white hen class, first in the American white cockerel; B. H. Fraser was second in the cockerel class and the Rev W. P. Stent took third prize in the white hen class. In addition to the above, W. E. Mathie won the points prize in the American open Leghorns, and points prize in the utility Leghorns.
