Captain John Linton, of the Indian medical corps. He persisted in carrying but his duties under heavy fire though shot in the arms and side. A Sepoy named Chatta Singh, of the 9th Bhopals.—He assisted a wounded helpless commanding officer. He dressed the officer’s wounds, dug cover under heavy lire, and remained for five hours shielding the officer with his body. He then brought the officer to safety.
