The Lord Mayor presided at the Mansion House when a conference of •'.OO of the most' prominent business r.en in Britain, representative of all tranches of trade arid industry, was belt!
a cordial reception was accorded leeches by Mr. Hughes and Mr. ''osier (Canadian Minister of Trade).
Leading trade circles earnestly support the fulfilment of the recommendations of the Paris Conference. Mr. Hughes denounced pro-German firms in Britain, who lie said, were acting as caretakers of Germany's interests. hopefully awaiting a resumption of friendly relations. Britain must slam the door on those hopes. Mr. Foster emphasised Canadian single-minded support of the poliev that the resources of the Empire must be reserved primarily for its people ’ad. i. eiv posterity.
