DARCY GOT ANGRY,
CROUSE LASTS FOUR MINUTES, Les Darcy got angry at the Stadium on Saturday night, June 3rd. "Buck" Crouse was the cause of it. First of all he wanted to do any* thing but fight. Like Cosiica —lately; departed—he was fearful of the Australian, and desired to stay long enough in the ring, without being hit, to regain his confidence. Buc holding on to Darcy i s like trying to manage a mettlesome colt. Crouse couldn't do it. and he then endeavoured to beat the attack by weight of metal. His right gleve crashed against Darcy's head. Darcy stopped in his tracks'. His big, boyish grin slid away, and he looked really stern. About 15 sec of the second round had gone when that happened. In another twenty or so it wa s all over. Crouse had been tated.
Darcy said afterwards, with an aipof pained indignation, "That man hit me very hard; -he made me angry. >; \ And when he does get angry his brain freezes.
Ten thousand spectators also felt angry, and to appease the hooting crowd p. couple of additional bouts had to be put on.
