Pessimism IS widespread in Germany This is shown by an article in the Koelsische Volkszotung, which, flthough intended as a rebuke to grumblers,, is highly significant of the si-ite of feeling in the country. The article was quoted in a Renter telegram received from AmsterdamTh c Koelnische Volkszeitung contains an article directed against preachers of pessimism. It says: — "Now it is anxiety lest, as the result of the adoption of compulsory service, the British Army may become especially dangerous to us. We find prophets of pessimism in tavern and taproom, in cigar shops .md railway stations, always busy giving the benefit of their wisdom to their follow men.
