The Secretary of th-> local Recruiting Committee received the following telegram from the Defence Group Readquarters at Piilmerston North-—"'Ten more infantry men urgently required make up quota 17th Beinforcments to report 29th instant ;.?, Showgrounds, Palmerston North, 11.30 a.m." Following are the names of the latest recruits to register:—Peter Jackson, fitj W.
