The Pall Mall Gazette publishes the views of distinguished men in favour of holding an Imperial conference to consider post-war problems, especially imperial coordination. Lord Lamington recommended periodical ;Cbnfte ( rences; K {gradually acquiring responsible statutory powers. Such process would be safer and more in accordance with our constitutional developments, than the adoption of the national system which might readily settle out free working Empire. Lord Sydenham hopes the Empire will emerge from the war more firmly united and ready with organised cooperation, securing the welfare of all classes. a ' >*.
