Zola should be a hot favourite the Connolly Handicap, judging by the ante-post betting, and will strip in excellent condition. Th e Sweet Simon gelding, however, is meeting very good company and Lady Louisa (7.12) and Emperador (8.3) will probably have a big say at the finish.

Twenty four horses are engaged in the Puma Hack Handicap and the issue is very open. The Auckland owned Fionnula and Ladify will both see the distance out and should run well.
