The Eussian entry of Trebizond has thrown light on the fate of Armenians. Three thousand leading families -were ordered to procure waggons to carry their goods. Four days later the wagons were brought back, ihe -occupants having been plundered and massacred. Other groups followed. Thus 10,000 of the Armenian population were exterminated. Practically the same pro gramme was carried out at Erzeroum, where the population was estimated a,t 35,000.
