FOOTBALL.
IN AID OF RED CROSS FUNDS
On Saturday a football match will be played on the Taihape oval between teams representing the Pirates’ Club and the Railways, and should provide an interesting game. The object of the match is to raise money for the local Red Cross Society and it is to be hoped there will be a large attendance.
Recently the two teams tried conclusions, the Pirates proving victors after a good fast game by 13 to 0. The Railways will have a better team in the field on Saturday and a very close and exciting contest should result.
No charge will be made for admission but a collection will be taken up by members of the Red Cross Society.
