POLITICAL NOTES.
A COMPLAINT BY ME VEITCH,
WELLINGTON, May 12.
Speaking in the House to-day Mr Veitch stated that two blacksmiths and farriers -lad been refused supplies of iron and horsenails by three merchants at Wanganui, even though they offered to pay cash. The reason given was that these men were not members of the Employers'' Association. He communicated with the Premier, who replied stating that no action could be taken by the Government, as the goods in question did not come within the scope of the Commercial Trusts Act The only thing that could be done was for the men who had been refused supplies to seek their own remedy at common law. This, of course, would be too expensive. PEOPLE OF GERMAN DESCENT COMPLAINT AGAINST THEIR TREATMENT. , WELLINGTON, May 12.
