A BLOODY ENCOUNTER.

BETWEEN GERMANS AND AUSTRIANS. MANY KILLED AND WOUNDED. (Reed. 10.40 a.m.). PETROGRAD, April 30. Enemy deserters state that when the flooding of the Austro-German trenches at Pinsk necessitated with-

drawal, the Germans retired first, leaving the Austrians to hold trenches. The Austrians were so incensed that a bloody hand to hand fight followed, in which about 100 were killed and wounded. Both German and Austrian troops hurried up to help their comrades and the fight became so serious that the German staff sounded the alarm of a Russian attack as a ruse which proved successful.
