GOLF.

The Committee of the Taihape Golf Club met on Friday, 28th April, the principal business being to arrange for the opening of the season. It "was resolved that t>he opening day be Thursday, 4th May, and that competitions be -held. The following officials wone elected: —Putting, Messrs. Neagle and Beban; Approaching, Messrs. Wakeman and Train; Driving, Messrs. Bray and Champion. The arrangements for afternoon tea wer.e left in the hands of the President and Secretary. Th c President, Mr. P. E. Wakeman, reported that a caretaker for the links had been engaged and good work had already been done, both the course and greens being greatly improved.
