FEWER DIE OF WOUNDS.

In the first few months of the war 3 per cent of the wounded in t-'ie German army died, .12 per cent were discharged, and 85 per cent, returned to active duty. Experience has gradually reduced this rate until to-day 1.7 per cent die. 8.8 per cent are discharged, and 89.5 per cent art-fit for duty. In the French army 4.5 per cent of the wounded died in September, 1914. In the last few months the death rate has been 1.8 per cent. Th.? normal death r,ate in the Paris -hospitals in time of peace is 1.06 per cent.
