Mr. Asquith’s explanation of the phrase “destruction of Prussian militarism,” cabled on the 10th,is wide y commented on in Allied and neutral countries. French newspapers believe the words bring home to German peoples the dangers to their constitutional system. GERMANY'S FAILURE TO INTERPRET. WHAT BRITAIN AND HER ALLIES INTENDED. (Reed. 9.10 a.m.). AMSTERDAM, April 12. The Niews Vandenang emphasises the passage in Mr. Asquith’s remarks: “If their interpretation of the Allies’ aims had been known earlier, the legend, “Destruction of Prussian Militarism,” could not have been taken in the shape, that Britain and her Allies would not sheath the sword until Germany was disintegrated.
