A sensational case under the Defence of the Realm Act is proceeding at Sheffield. Albert Bright was charged with attempting to secure information of the Vickers Companies’ most recent ingredients used in the making of armour plate, shells and guns. It w r as alleged that Bright offered a man named Brooks, a workman, £IOO for information. Brooks pretended to accept, but disclosed the offer to Vickers, who arranged a trap. Detectives arrested Bright with the written information in his possession. The case was heard in camera after the opening statement.
