HOW THE TIDE OF WAR IS RUNNING.

Dr. Fitchett, in the April number of "Life” is very confident that the tide of war has turned and is beginning to run strongly in favour of the Allies. He does not appear to think that the War is ended, or even that the AT is m sight, but his opinion is that the effect on th e whole war of the Russian victories in Asia Minor, and the German repulses at Verdun, will be immediately felt. One section of Dr. Fitchett’s History of the Month, in “Life,” deals with the Verdun attack; another is devoted to “The Bewildering Geography of the War;” a third to “Some of the surprises and Puzzles of the Great War;” and still another to a review of Sir lan Hamilton’s famous despatch describing what he calls “The Great. Adventure of Gallipoli.”
