SOLDIER'S TRAGIC HOMECOMING.
Private Thomas Jennings, of the 4th King's Liverpool Eegiment, home on leave from the front, was admitted to the David Lewis Northern Hospital, Liverpool, on January IS, with a bullet wound in his arm. The circumstances of his home-coming were extremely sad. He went to France nearly 12 months ago, and admitted to hospital at Havre suffering from gas poisoning. While there he received a letter telling him that his wife had died. Jennings came to Liverpool in the expectation of seeing his mother and his only c-hild, and upon arriving learned that his mother also had died. Naturally, he was greatly affected. His leave expired on th e previous Sunday night, and although he went to the station he missed the train to London. He returned to his relatives in Burlington Street, and was later found in the attic in a pool of blood and his rifle on t-lie floor. He was removed to hospital and detained.
