A Berlin wireless says: The Russians, with unprecedented numbers of men and munitions, violently attacked Hindenburg's armies : northwest of Jacobstadt. The Russians suffered enormous losses. Similar unsuccessful attacks were made at Postavy, fifty miles south of Dvinsk. After strong attacks by portions of three Russian 'army corps south of Natotch Lake, the Prussians, by a counter-attack, recaptured an artillery observation position lost on the 28th inst, capturing 21 officers and 2,140 men. j^v#i^
