TAIHAPE RED CROSS.

A SOME URGENT REQUIREMENTS* Hereunder is published a long list of articles of which the New Zealand Branch of th e British Red Cross Society stands in constant need, and those specially marked with an asterisk are urgently needed*! It is now fairly well known that -?the Taihape Women's Working Club has largely been merged in the Red Cross Society, only reserving itself the carrying on cf such work as is not necessarily includable in Red Cross operations. One only need centre his thought on the privations of soldiers in the trenches to realise how welcome such articles are, and what thankfulness the men feel for the slight effort and self-denial we make on their behalf. It is almost impossible to realise the joy with which our gifts are received, and particularly is this "the case with the brave fellows in hospital hanging between life and death. It is then that a comfort is doubly appreciated, as it centres his mind on a home thousands of mi es away where, he feels, he isnot forgotten, and a state cf mind may thereby be induced which means the difference between living and dying.
