State Mine truckers demand an increase of wages and negotiations arc proceeding. ■ ' ■ PARLIAMENT. .WELLINGTON, March 27. The opening of Parliament will take place e;ifly in May, instead of at the end of April, as previously announced, but the exact date has not’ret beer, decided upon. Unless something unexpected arises, all business will be tx’ausactod in one session. There will he no policy legislation introduced, and t?ic greater portion of the business, apart from departmental affairs, will have to do with matters arising out of the war. BRAWL AT WHAN GABEL WHANGAREI, March 27. A brawl took place at the Whangarex Freezing Works last night as the result of an altercation following upon drinking. It is rumoured that knives wore drawn. Two men, J. Tankren and D. Gibbon, were injured, and were brought by the police to the Whangarei Hospital. A third man, ?. Dwan, was brought in and taken to the hospital to-day. There is no information regarding arrests. The injuries are not serious.
